For many of us this was our first ever visit with our old cars to the show and we weren't disappointed. Set in beautiful countryside in Devon's idyllic Teign valley, it had all the best that Devon village shows can offer. We had ringside seats to watch the entertainment through the day, including the Mighty Smith strongman, a horse and carriage display, and the amateur dog racing. The very amusing announcer added to the fun and had us in fits of laughter as he teased his "friend" Peter who was in charge of the imitation hare used to get the dogs excited and ready for their races.
Elsewhere on the show field there was a large display of vintage tractors, stalls selling all sorts including local plants, garden produce, and farm meat. In the second field was a horse and pony show, whilst the large community hall was packed with competition entries which included vegetables, cakes, bread, art and photographs, all judged during the morning and then on view for the rest of the day.
Everyone had a brilliant day and it was agreed we'll definitely be back next year!
